In this situation you need to open the lamp and bring out the bulb to see how much it has burnt and for how much time it can burn more. This method is not very appreciated in modern day of technology as this assessment can be wrong in most of the cases.
Second way to assess the life of projector bulb is the reading of bulb life in projector menu. Now companies have found the average life of projector bulbs so they define it in lamps menu under bulb condition. Here you can see for how many hours you can use this bulb further.
