LIMITED WEDDINGS IN 2012 DUE TO FINANCIAL CRISIS

Financial crisis has affected all of us. Every aspect of our life is affected and things that we have taken for granted are now changing. A marriage – nyfika is one of these things. We have learn that love is the only thing that a couple needs to be happy. Though, nowadays it seems that people need something more than just love to get married. They need financial security, too. It may sound very inconvenient but the truth is that we all would like a huge house with a swimming pool and a spouse that can be both a great wife/husband and an excellent businesswoman/man. When the priest says ”for rich and for poor”, well we do not think about that poor thing. On the other hand though there is a different story behind the crisis. People have learned that they do not need that much all that glamorous life they imagine to live with their partners. A marriage is actually just a public announcement, a legal paper that recognizes you as a couple. But it can be a quite expensive paper! So, many have decided that they do not need to prove their love and affection by getting married. Families are still the most important thing that we have, and we are never going to stop creating families. The majority of young couples this period lives together, may work together, have children together, but they do not get married each other. They put the idea of a wedding in the back of their head, because they do not want to add more expenses like νυφικα in their family budget, or they are unable to afford that ”idea” for now hoping that one day things will get better. Until then they still have each other!
